Items requested by Taguasco's Session

During the current severe crisis in Cuba, we asked Taguasco's Session what would be most helpful to them to better assist their community.
They replied saying,"Whatever you can bring, we will be grateful. Don’t worry if you can’t”


With that in mind, items below, highlighted in red, have been specifically requested this year, but items in black are always welcomed.

Emergency supplies

  • Rechargeable flashlights and lanterns

 

Medications

  • Antibiotics (tablet, cream, ointment)

  • Antacids (Pepto-Bismol, Tums)

  • Blood pressure meds (Lisinopril)

  • Allergy meds (Benadryl, Flonase)

  • Diabetes meds (Metformin)

  • Asthma and pulmonary meds
    (Salbutamol or other inhalers)

  • Catheters and collection bags
    (hospitals don’t have them)

  • Oral rehydration salts

  • Pain relievers – Ibuprofen,and Naproxen (Advil, Aleve)

Please note: we've already received
a large quantity of acetaminophen
which we will bring with us.

 

Nutricional supplements

- Vitamin B-complex     - Vitamin C         

- Vitamin D3                  - Omega 3 & 6                   

- Calcium                       - Iron

- Zinc
- Glucosamine and chondroitin capsules
 

Other medical items

  • Band-aids, bandages

  • Canes

  • Reading glasses

 

Church office

  • Used Windows laptop

  • Toilet paper

  • Soap bars

 

Liturgical items

  • Candles for worship

  • A functioning acoustic guitar
    The current guitar is warped and doesn't play

  • Cloth and fabric in liturgical colors
    Examples: bolts of satin
    red, green, purple, black, white

 

Food (non-perishable, in bulk)

  • Protein

  • Bouillon cubes (chicken, beef)

  • Powdered milk

  • Cooking oil

  • Mild spices

  • Coffee and tea
     

Sunday School supplies

  • Pens and pencils

  • Water-based markers

  • Paints and chalks

  • Construction paper

  • Stickers and crafts items

  • Small toys (party favors)

  • Wrapped candy
     

Teacher supplies

  • Rolls of paper

  • Cardboard

  • Storybooks in Spanish
     

Sewing materials

  • Scraps of colorful fabric

  • Remnants (all kinds)

  • Hand and machine needles

  • Thread and yarn

All of the items listed above are currently unavailable or very difficult to obtain in Cuba.

While our partnership isn't primarily based on providing supplies or material support, but rather on prayer and worshiping together in mutuality and accompaniment, our partners are grateful for our assistance during the current crisis in Cuba.
